Designing for API Gateway

Representational State Transfer (REST) is the most popular architecture for creating HTTP/HTTPS-based APIs to represent web services that a site has to offer to end users. The REST architecture builds upon the GET/POST/PUT/DELETE requests offered in the HTTP/HTTPS standards. In this chapter, you'll learn how to build a RESTful API, get introduced to the basic rules for API design, create endpoints for requests that a client sends to a server, and define response status codes.
