Organize teams around business outcomes

Outcome-oriented teams are teams that are structured in a way to deliver a clearly defined business value or business benefit. Outcomes could be in form of products, services, customer capability (for example, ability to search for a product on an online shopping website), or even a feature (for example, customer loyalty). If an outcome is too large, then it is prudent to break it into sub outcomes, for example, the payment feature may be broken into sub features as payment by credit card, payment through loyalty points, and payment by cash on delivery. Examples of business benefits that should be linked to outcomes include increase in sales, increase in customer satisfaction, and so on.
