Technical requirements
To get the most out of this chapter, you will need to have access to the following resources:
- A Databricks workspace. Databricks SQL requires a Premium or higher level of subscription. Databricks SQL is currently available on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Provisioning a Databricks workspace is beyond the scope of this book. You can get started here: https://databricks.com/try-databricks.
- Any modern internet browser. Databricks workspaces are accessed via browsers. Command-line interface and REST API-based access is also possible, but these are beyond the scope of this book. You can explore the CLI and REST API at your own pace by following the guide at https://docs.databricks.com/reference/command.html.
