Part 1: The Fundamentals

In this part of the book, we will cover the fundamentals of the Service Mesh, why it is needed, and what type of applications need it. You will understand the difference between Istio and other Service Mesh implementations. This part will also walk you through the steps to configure and set up your environment and install Istio, and while doing so, it will unravel the Istio control plane and data plane, how they operate, and their roles in the Service Mesh.
