Marking the seams and UV unwrapping

As we saw earlier, your model might have started with junk UVs from the retopology phase. When we're done marking the seams, all of these temporary UVs will be replaced with new, better UVs. The edge marking process is easiest in Edge mode:

  1. Select the BabyDragon_Main object.
  2. Tab into Edit Mode.
  3. Press 2 on the home row to go to Edge Select mode.

Now, we need to determine which edges to cut. This can be a little bit difficult to do if you're new to the process, but over time, it will become intuitive. Because we did such a good job in our retopology phase, we now have lots of edge loops to work with on our baby dragon model. These edge loops will help us figure out where to mark seams.
