Team Building
When we made the choice of business analyst (BA) and tester, we went to talk to them first to see whether they would like the idea of working with us. It was very humbling to feel they were genuinely excited about it, but also a bit scared:
- BA: "No one ever explained the backlog to me, and I've only been here a few months, so I can't say I really know the business. Are you really sure I can be of help? Maybe others more seasoned in the business will know more stuff!"
- Me: "I have the impression that no one here really understands the business. I feel that there are two kinds of people: those who pretend to know and those who express doubts. We prefer people of the second kind. We will dig into the business knowledge together as a team until we gain the understanding we need."
- Tester: "Guys, I have to let you know beforehand that I have never worked like that before. I am not sure if I am up to your expectations?" ...
