The default WordPress installation contains only one administrator user created within the installation process. Administrators have the capability to create new users from the backend user management section. However, users visiting the site cannot create user accounts, as user registration is disabled by default. This process works well for sites managed by a predefined set of users as members. Public sites that let visitors add content as well as use member-only features need to go through the user registration process.
In this recipe, we are going to enable user registration features to the public, and check the default user registration process.
