Troubleshoot Mobile Device Management


Mobile Device Management is a relatively new feature in Configuration Manager 2012 (introduced with Service Pack 1). The R2 version added many enhancements and the feature is growing rapidly in line with Microsoft's monthly release cadence.

The functionality is provided by adding a Microsoft Intune Subscription and Connector to your Configuration Manager site. This is a relatively new technology and the mobile device communication is carried out using a cloud service. Therefore, troubleshooting is not very advanced at this time.

This is a general problem rather than a problem with a specific component. There are a number of actions you can perform:

  • Recreate the Intune subscription and Intune connector.

  • Review the sitecomp.log file for errors.

  • Using the Configuration Manager console, verify that the CloudUserSync component has been created.
