Chapter 4. Troubleshooting Package Management and System Upgrades
The Yellowdog Updater, Modified (Yum) has been with us for a while. It is easy to use and it serves to reduce the complexity of dependency management when installing or upgrading CentOS packages. More commonly referred to as Yum, this chapter will be assuming that you are already proficient in its fundamental usage (including installing packages, updating packages, removing packages, and searching for packages) as our intention is to continue the overall premise of this book by approaching the subject of package management and system upgrades.
