Creating the landscape
In this section, we will create the landscape around our mushroom. For the landscape, we will be using a plane primitive and Proportional Editing. Let's do this now:
- Click the Layout tab at the top of the interface to change to the Layout workspace.
- Create a new Plane primitive by pressing Shift + A and select Mesh | Plane.
- With the plane selected, press S and then type

to scale it to 10 m. - Apply the scale by pressing Ctrl + A and selecting Scale from the drop-down menu.
- Next, we need to subdivide our plane so we have enough geometry to create our landscape. With the plane selected, press Tab to enter Edit Mode.
- Press 3 to activate Face Select mode.
- Click on the plane's Face to select it.
- Right-click on this Face to bring up the Face context menu and select Subdivide from the dropdown.
