Installing a source code comparison tool

Behind the scenes, the Desktop Studio generates JavaScript code from the drag-and-drop workflow components. However, as a developer, you can replace the generated scripts or add custom code manually. These manual activities require code comparison and merging. While it is possible to do a manual comparison, source code comparison tools can do the same comparison swiftly and without the usual errors associated with monotonous human activities. For this reason, we recommend you install either KDiff3 or the Beyond Compare tool. Either one of these tools is sufficient, but as SAP uses KDiff3 in all examples and tutorials, we will show how to install this tool. If you'd prefer Beyond Compare, please follow a similar process.
