Summary
This chapter reviewed new enhancements for NAS backups. First, we looked at the archive copy mode for NAS backups and the direct-to-object storage option. We also reviewed the ability to use immutable repositories for NAS backups. We then looked at how to publish a NAS backup as an SMB share for user access. Lastly, we discussed the ability to run a health check on a NAS backup and how a cloud helper appliance is used with the current cloud providers.
After reading this chapter, you should have a much deeper understanding of the NAS backup enhancements and what’s new in v12.
Hopefully, you now have a better idea of NAS backups. The next and final chapter will examine continuous data protection (CDP) and Veeam Cloud Connect and how they can be leveraged together.
