Salesforce Flow and Screen Flows
Salesforce Flow is Salesforce’s modern point-and-click automation tool, but native automation tools in Salesforce have come a long way. Because Salesforce is a managed software that has always marketed itself on its ability to use clicks before code, Salesforce has had a few tools over the years that allow users to extend their software. Long before there was Salesforce Flow, there were Workflow Rules. Workflow Rules were introduced in 2001, two years after the creation of Salesforce itself. Workflow Rules allowed administrators to set automations on simple criteria such as field changes, or to complete actions such as sending emails at a scheduled time. While this kind of automation may sound primitive now, it was revolutionary for its time.
