Monitoring the underlying infrastructure of the private cloud is an essential operational activity that requires consistent tools and automated ways to achieve real-time metrics collection and alerting mechanisms. Among the different OpenStack releases, a variety of open-source and commercial tools exist to support the monitoring of different pieces of the OpenStack ecosystem.
