AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a web service that helps you securely control access to AWS resources for your users. You use IAM to control who can use your AWS resources (authentication) and what resources they can use and in what ways (authorization).

In other words, or rather a simpler definition of IAM is as follows:

AWS IAM allows you to control who can take what actions on which resources in AWS.

IAM manages users (identities) and permissions (access control) for all AWS resources. It is offered free of charge, so you don't have to pay to use IAM. It provides you greater control, security, and elasticity while working with AWS cloud.

I never leave reviews but felt strongly enough to do so for this book. You are not going to master security with this book, but you will get a broad brush overview of the numerous components that comprise the AWS security framework. Also, the language is choppy and some alternate spellings are prominent; I attribute it being published in the UK. If you want to pay $20 USD for a high level summary of AWS security features, this is the book for you.

The book is very average in content. No test cases are mentioned. The author picks a component of AWS and paste its definition from Amazon document reference and add security terms to it. Don't waste your money on this . Nothing Much to write.
