Mountain Lion and Gatekeeper
If you are running Aperture on Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) or later, you may run into an issue with Mountain Lion's security system called Gatekeeper, and Aperture plugins. If the plugin hasn't been updated to work with Gatekeeper, you may get an error when you run it, telling you that it is an unauthorized software. To fix this issue, you may need to disable Gatekeeper by performing the following steps:
- Go to your System Preferences by choosing it from the Apple menu, or by launching the System Preferences app from your
Applications
folder in the finder. - Click on the Security & Privacy button.
- Click on the lock button to unlock the panel, and make changes.
- Enter your password.
- Under the section called Allow applications downloaded from, click on the button that says Anywhere. This should solve the problem, however, be aware that your computer could now potentially run malware. However, this is no different than how your computer would have behaved before...
