Preparing your work

Before getting started, you will make Captivate ready by opening the required files using the following steps:

  1. Open or restart Captivate.
  2. Use the File | Open menu item to open the Chapter03/encoderDemo_800.cptx file situated in your exercises folder.
  3. Open the Chapter03/drivingInBe.cptx project in your exercises folder.

If you are using the default interface mode (as described in Chapter 1, Getting Started with Adobe Captivate 8), restarting Captivate should reset your workspace to the default interface. If you are using the advanced interface mode, be aware that the screenshots of this book as well as the step-by-step instructions have been made using the default interface. The procedure to switch back to the default interface mode is described in Chapter 1, Getting Started with Adobe Captivate 8.
