Design, implementation, and maintenance are key stages for any successful service deployment. In this chapter, you learned how to design the Active Directory infrastructure according to industry standards and best practices. There are two main parts of the process, which are designing a logical structure and designing a physical structure. Designing domain and forest structures, designing the OU structure, and global catalog server placements fall under logical structure design, and domain controller placements and site design fall under the physical topology design. In the next chapter, we are going to look into Domain Name System (DNS), which is the naming system for infrastructures.
