Configuring the VPN
As you may know, a virtual private network (VPN) is a logical connection on the internet for transmitting data securely. As its name suggests, a VPN creates a virtual point-to-point link between two computers on the WAN (that is, internet). That way, by utilizing tunneling protocols and data encryption algorithms, the VPN enables remote users to get connected to an organization's network over the internet infrastructure. This kind of network is usually implemented in two ways: remote access VPN and site-to-site VPN. In the remote access VPN, remote users (telecommuters) are connected with the server on their organization’s private network, whereas the site-to-site VPN enables organizations to connect two separate networks over the internet.
