• Understanding the blockchain technology from the cybersecurity perspective
• Developing cyber security solutions with Ethereum blockchain technology
• Understanding real-world deployment of blockchain based applications
Description
Blockchain technology is being welcomed as one of the most revolutionary and impactful innovations of today. Blockchain technology was first identified in the world’s most popular digital currency, Bitcoin, but has now changed the outlook of several organizations and empowered them to use it even for storage and transfer of value.
This book will start by introducing you to the common cyberthreat landscape and common attacks such as malware, phishing, insider threats, and DDoS. The next set of chapters will help you to understand the workings of Blockchain technology, Ethereum and Hyperledger architecture and how they fit into the cybersecurity ecosystem. These chapters will also help you to write your first distributed application on Ethereum Blockchain and the Hyperledger Fabric framework. Later, you will learn about the security triad and its adaptation with Blockchain. The last set of chapters will take you through the core concepts of cybersecurity, such as DDoS protection, PKI-based identity, 2FA, and DNS security. You will learn how Blockchain plays a crucial role in transforming cybersecurity solutions.
Toward the end of the book, you will also encounter some real-world deployment examples of Blockchain in security cases, and also understand the short-term challenges and future of cybersecurity with Blockchain.
Who is this book for?
The book is targeted towards security professionals, or any stakeholder dealing with cybersecurity who wants to understand the next-level of securing infrastructure using Blockchain. Basic understanding of Blockchain can be an added advantage.
What you will learn
• Understand the cyberthreat landscape
• Learn about Ethereum and Hyperledger Blockchain
• Program Blockchain solutions
• Build Blockchain-based apps for 2FA, and DDoS protection
• Develop Blockchain-based PKI solutions and apps for storing DNS entries
• Challenges and the future of cybersecurity and Blockchain
First, the good points: the topics on cybersecurity are well written, and it was interesting for me to see common security issues as well as defend mechanisms outlined and explained.Sadly, the code examples in this book are not useful at all. The author is providing only a glimpse of the needed information and implementation details. I looked forward to the hands-on part the most, only to see that the few and poor code samples are not useful at all. Very disappointing at that end, not worth to be named a "Hands-On".

The title is VERY misleading. This book not about Blockchain Security as the title says. It is copy-paste what general security is (internet/Wikipedia) and what Blockchain, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Hyperledger.I wasted $ but thankfully realized just by glancing at the book in 2 hours it was a waste of 2 hours (nothing new, nor even specific to blockchain security.About me: IT security professional with 20+ years of experience and a Ph.D. in Cryptography + CISSP + CISA working in blockchain DLT security for the last 5 years.

this book only reiterates existing security concepts for 90% of the time and 10% makes obvious remarks about blockchain, the code examples don't work since the book is missing critical information or code to complete them.

This is a good book as a ready reference although there are contradictions in the book about Ethereum. In some places it states that Ethereum uses proof of stake and in others it states that it uses proof of work for consensus. Although this is a very cutting edge field so I can see how the information is changing faster than people can write books. Other than a few confusing concepts, I would recommend this book if you need to get up to speed on cybersecurity using blockchain. The next addition will hopefully be 5 stars because I like the concept and the structure.

Wearing my security manager’s hat (well, I would, but I haven’t occupied that particular vocational niche for many years, so I don’t have one), I know Security on the Information Superhighway ’ a useful resource (especially as a source of useful citation, if less groundbreaking. Also with this book Mr.Rajneesh has done full justice by explaining blockchain with cybersecurity, being security expert I could very much relate with the said topic for me this book interested me to learn more about blockchain and cybersecurity. Kudos !!
Rajneesh Gupta is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with over 11 years of industry experience. With a remarkable career focused on incident response, penetration testing, security compliance, and risk management, Rajneesh has established himself as a leading expert in the field.
He is also an accomplished author, having penned the book "Hands-on with Blockchain and Cybersecurity."
As a dedicated educator, Rajneesh has made a significant impact on the cybersecurity community by training over 60,000 students globally.

Can I download the code files for Early Access titles?
We try to ensure that all books in Early Access have code available to use, download, and fork on GitHub. This helps us be more agile in the development of the book, and helps keep the often changing code base of new versions and new technologies as up to date as possible. Unfortunately, however, there will be rare cases when it is not possible for us to have downloadable code samples available until publication.
When we publish the book, the code files will also be available to download from the Packt website.
How accurate is the publication date?
The publication date is as accurate as we can be at any point in the project. Unfortunately, delays can happen. Often those delays are out of our control, such as changes to the technology code base or delays in the tech release. We do our best to give you an accurate estimate of the publication date at any given time, and as more chapters are delivered, the more accurate the delivery date will become.
How will I know when new chapters are ready?
We'll let you know every time there has been an update to a course that you've bought in Early Access. You'll get an email to let you know there has been a new chapter, or a change to a previous chapter. The new chapters are automatically added to your account, so you can also check back there any time you're ready and download or read them online.
