What are AppSheet OCR models?
AppSheet OCR performs text data scraping out of an image that contains text or handwritten values. With this feature, you can speed up the data entry process. The user takes or uploads an image to the app and the OCR model then extracts the text from the image. It then pushes the data to the target column inside the form view.
In a nutshell, OCR is a powerful feature to effectively process structured data without typing text into the input fields, which, in turn, does not require user intervention.
What types of images are scannable by OCR?
AppSheet’s OCR feature can be used when you need to scan multiple documents that all have a fixed layout. The images may contain either printed text or handwriting. For example, a standardized paper of batches of names for a conference or UPS shipping labels could be scannable by AppSheet OCR.
