Information Systems Implementation
Information systems implementation is the process of ensuring that a system is operational. It involves either the creation of a new system from scratch or the migration of an old system to a new one. It is very important for an information systems auditor to understand the implementation process of information systems. This is because they need to determine, evaluate, and address various risks associated with the implementation process.
This chapter covers Domain 3, Information Systems Acquisition, Development and Implementation, part B, Informaton Systems Implementation, of the CISA exam outline. The following topics will be covered in this chapter:
- Testing methodology
- System migration
- Post-implementation review
- Configuration and release management
By the end of the chapter, you, as an IS auditor, will have a firm understanding of the core concepts of IS implementation.
