The ability to process and analyze huge data sets is a real need of the time. Big data is a reality of all organizations as growth of the data that is being generated is enormous. Enterprises are being challenged with the 3Vs of data, described as follows:
- Variety (as in data types)
- Velocity (as in the speed at which data is being generated)
- Volume (as in the amount of data that needs to be processed and stored)
Over the last decade, industry has seen the growth of many data processing and analysis paradigms. When it comes to data processing, it is very difficult to find one tool that does storage of the data, processing of the data, analysis of the data, and presentation of the processed data; but it is always possible to find a set of technologies that work well together to achieve all these requirements...
