Planning service offerings
In this first section, we will begin by looking at service offerings in general before we delve into greater detail later on in the chapter when we look at what it takes to create an offering within Azure Stack Hub. Before that, let's think about how users get a subscription for Azure. Users sign up for Azure, which in turn subscribes them to an offer such as pay as you go, an enterprise agreement, MSDN, a trial, and so on. These are offers that are provided by Microsoft for users to subscribe to when they create their Azure subscription. With Azure Stack Hub, you as the operator can then take on the role of Microsoft and must define the offers you wish to make available from your platform.
In Azure Stack Hub, you are the provider, which means that you define quotas, plans, and offers. You control the quotas specific to each offer and you define your business operating model.
