Clipboard tips
First, what is the Clipboard? The Clipboard is Media Composer's memory bank. When certain operations are performed (discussed in just a moment), it places information temporarily into the Clipboard. When the information in the Clipboard is displayed in either the Source Window or the Record Window, it is also placed as a selection in that window's Clip Name Menu above it. For emphasis, I want to repeat that the information is only stored there temporarily. In order to preserve it for long-term, future use, you must make a Sub-Sequence of it and place it in the a bin.
What does the Copy to Clipboard icon look like? In Version 3 of the software, it was updated to look like a paper document with its corner folded over placed on top of another document, also with its corner folded over, as shown in the following screenshot:
