Integrating with Ephesoft

Ephesoft is an open source document capturing solution. It provides automatic classification, extraction of data, and sorting scanned documents. Most important, it is web-based which makes it easy to use. It also supports the OCR/ICR engine. Ephesoft provides a complete imaging solution. Ephesoft support CMIS, using which documents can be stored in any ECM.

Let's consider our example. You have remote client offices that scan the customer details documents, OCR them, extracts metadata, and sends them over to you for approval and storage. For this, we will need integration of Ephesoft and Alfresco. Ephesoft will take care of capturing of document and extraction of metadata. Alfresco will store the document.

You are going to perform the following steps for a demo application:

1. Install Ephesoft.
2. Create a custom type in Alfresco.
3. Create a custom document type in Ephesoft.
4. Configure the CMIS plugin in Ephesoft.
5. Process batch in Ephesoft and store documents in Alfresco.
