Configuring SSL Security for Web Manager
Certificates play an important role in the security of any vCenter implementation and this extends to other applications and components such as vShield Manager. The configuration tools in the vShield Manager web console allows for the request and import of standard X.509 certificates generated by an internal or public certificate authority.
Getting ready
In order to proceed, we require access to vShield Web Console. This client can be run on any modern Windows or Mac desktop operating system or server operating system.
Note
vShield Web Console requires Adobe Flash, which is not supported on Linux operating systems at this time.
Ensure the account used for login has administrative rights to vShield Manager.
How to do it…
Perform the following steps:
Navigate to the Settings & Reports | Configuration within vShield Manager.
Select SSL Certificate.
Enter information into the following required fields:
Common Name: A name describing the certificate.
