Summary

We started this chapter discussing the aspects of 3D SR, going into more detail on genAI, including how it differs from discriminative models, what GANs, transformer-based models, NeRF, and 3D Gaussian Splatting are, and some current limitations of NeRF and 3D Gaussian Splatting. Next, we reviewed what the benefits of 3D visual information are, including business benefits, some particular examples, and economic benefits. Finally, we addressed how hyper interactivity, 3D visualization, and the Metaverse are intrinsically connected, along with 10 examples displaying this connection and the potential drawbacks of it, as well.

In conclusion, this chapter aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of 3D SR, its underlying technologies, and the potential benefits and challenges it brings to the world.
