A technical writing definition
Technical writing is any media, mostly words, but not always, that explains to someone how something works and how they can use it. This could be as little as a README file, code comments, or as much as pages and pages of tutorials and reference material. I laid out what tasks I consider to be outside of that definition, but some are more outside of it than others, and if there’s one piece of advice to take away from this section, it’s this. Your task is to find the best way to explain complex topics. You will learn through this book and, over time on your own, the best ways to do this that work for you and your audience.
