I remember the time when only the really cool kids worked on Linux. Windows was for serious people. That was where the work was done. Sure, many servers ran Unix or Linux, but those working on those platforms were considered somewhat weird. They usually had beards, wore sandals, and spoke a language none of the rest of the people had ever heard.

OK, maybe I am exaggerating. Perhaps this shows how I felt about Linux or how intimidated I was by that operating system and its users. Linux has always been considered a more mature but complex operating system. It is more secure, faster, and better to maintain. It is also more complicated to use. Most of the work is done in the command line, although graphical user interfaces exist.

These days, things are different. Linux is everywhere. And for good reasons, too – Linux is an excellent operating system to run your system in the current online, connected world...
