Understanding different move/implementation scenarios

In this section, before we deep dive into the details around the data migration strategy/approach to be adopted, let’s go through an overview of different move/implementation scenarios possible when considering SAP S/4HANA along with RISE with SAP. We will then go through the type of data migration approach to be considered in each of the scenarios. The following are the three scenarios along with details of when to consider each of them.

Greenfield implementation

This scenario is applicable to customers who are either existing SAP (ECC) or non-SAP ERP-based customers. The main reason for considering Greenfield implementation is not being happy with the existing solution in place and wanting a completely new simplified design without carrying over the burden from the previous implementation(s).
