The late renowned social psychologist Albert Bandura (https://albertbandura.com/albert-bandura-self-efficacy.html) developed the concept of self-efficacy in his research, which he described as:
Self-efficacy is your belief in your abilities as related to dealing with various situations. These situations can be old, new, easy, or difficult. It can impact not only how you feel about yourself, but also how successful you might be at a given endeavor.
