Conventions used

There are a number of text conventions used throughout this book.

Code in text: Indicates code words in text, folder names, filenames, file extensions, pathnames, dummy URLs, and user input.

Here is an example: “In relation to the contents of percent.pipe.spec.ts, this is what we have:”

A block of code is set as follows:

import { PercentPipe } from './percent.pipe';
describe('PercentPipe', () => {
  it('create an instance', () => {
    const pipe = new PercentPipe();
    expect(pipe).toBeTruthy();
  });
});

Any command-line input or output is written as follows:

$ ng g pipe percent –skip-import
$ ng test

Bold: Indicates a new term, an important word, or words that you see onscreen. For instance, words in menus or dialog boxes appear in bold. Here is an example: “ Now we can save the file by clicking on the Commit changes button.”
