Creating a lightning spectacular (freeze frame and lightning ball)


In this task you will create a set of effects to show the guards being erased from time and space by the evil MechBot's laser beam of doom. You'll do this using the export frame function, a Track Matte effect, some very untamed and nonstraight lightning, and a simple White Matte. And you'll finish by wrapping up the entire effect in a fresh nested sequence. The effects and methods being used in this task shouldn't hold any mysteries to you, but you might be surprised by the variation on workflow used to create the illusion of a guard being consumed by heaving bundles of deadly lightening!

Engage Thrusters

Use the Lightning effect again to create an untimely end for the guards. Perform the following steps to do so:

  1. Use any of the keyboard shortcuts to move the Timeline indicator to the end of the Guard_02.avi clip. The guard needs to be visible in the Program Monitor, if he has vanished, move back one frame.
