Symbolization is a critical part of map communication, and effective use of symbols can make or break your map. In this chapter, we learned about the scales at which data is measured, and how that impacts the visual variables we can use to display it. We also learned how to work with classification methods, and how to use attribute-driven symbology to include additional attributes.
In the next chapter, we'll use these tools and our saved styles, as we move into ArcGIS Online. We'll also collaborate, share, and distribute maps and data within our organization, or with the world.
