Walking through Kubernetes Secrets Management Concepts
In the previous chapter, we had a good overview of Kubernetes, the components that Kubernetes consists of, and how configurations are applied and stored. Also, we built a Golang application and managed to run this application on Kubernetes. As expected, Secrets had to be added to our application’s configuration. Secrets management comes with various concerns. From creation to modification to deletion, we need to tackle security concerns as well as scalability and resiliency.
In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:
- What are Kubernetes Secrets, and how do they differ from other Kubernetes objects?
- Different types of Secrets and their usage scenarios
- Creating, modifying, and deleting Secrets in Kubernetes
- Kubernetes Secrets configuration in different deployment scenarios
- Requirement for managing Secrets, including secure storage and access control
- Securing access to Secrets with RBAC...
