APIP CS is designed from the ground to help organizations create and expose APIs in a secure, agile environment, while monitoring key performance indicators for every aspect of the life cycle. It is a new third generation API management platform that has been architected specifically for web-based APIs. It can be used to handle authentication, authorization, throttling and prevent malicious content. It is a superior product to the previous OAIPM 12c and OAG 11g releases, with a single browser-based interface, which makes it inherently easier to use. Heavy weight transformation and protocol conversion tools have been dropped since services themselves should ideally perform these functions, leaving the gateway as light weight and unobtrusive as possible.
