Summary

In this chapter, we have discussed the different cloud deployment and service models and how enterprises can take advantage of the cloud as a platform to advance their digital transformation efforts. We also explored how cloud infrastructures are adopted across different industries and what impacts they have had on various verticals, the value drivers of the cloud, how enterprises can adopt a hybrid cloud strategy, and the myths that surround cloud computing.

Regardless of the cloud paradigm, the success of a cloud transformation is purely dependent on an organization’s vision and the ability to craft a cloud strategy that complements it. For several large enterprises, leveraging a hybrid cloud strategy can be a welcome move, as it allows enterprises to take advantage of modern cloud computing platforms to solve business challenges while also leveraging existing investments in traditional on-premises setups.
