Summary
In this chapter, we learned about the various ways we can monitor and alert ourselves to Windows Server performance and availability events. We learned how to use Performance Monitor and Data Collector Sets, how to monitor servers and event logs using Windows Admin Center, and how to monitor overall server health using System Insights.
We also learned how to deploy and configure Azure Monitor Agents to collect performance data and alert on predefined thresholds. Finally, we discussed how to use the Azure diagnostics extension in Azure VMs, as well as how to monitor performance using VM insights.
In the next chapter, we will learn how to effectively troubleshoot network connectivity for both on-premises and hybrid networking. We will learn how to utilize existing tools, as well as the Azure Virtual Network troubleshooter package, to gain additional troubleshooting insights.
