Deploying Azure Monitor Agents
In Chapter 4, Identifying and Remediating Windows Server Security Issues Using Azure Services, in the Installing the Azure Arc Connected Machine Agent section, we learned that once a list of prerequisites is met, setting up Azure Monitor Agent (as part of the Azure Connected Machine agent) happens behind the scenes. In this section, we will discuss Azure Monitor Agent while reviewing the various ways to install Azure Monitor Agent on a server.
It is important to know that Log Analytics Agent will be deprecated by August 2024 (announcement available at the following URL: https://learn.microsoft.com/azure/azure-monitor/agents/azure-monitor-agent-migration), and it is recommended to migrate to Azure Monitor Agent before this date to avoid service interruption in any log data ingestion to Azure Monitor and other services.
