In this final section of this chapter, you will review how the use of other third-party connectivity can be impacted using cross-account connectivity. Commonly, the network team owns the on-premises and extra cloud connectivity into the AWS cloud environment. When using network virtual appliance-based connectivity, normally the network team owns the VPCs where the NVAs are deployed. These NVAs exist primarily to connect other environments to the cloud, as is the case with Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) connectivity. SD-WAN is an industry term describing the use of software-based control planes to deliver network connectivity in a scalable way.
