Using system variables

A system variable is a setting that controls the behavior of AutoCAD commands. They contain “default” values for their operation and can even control the appearance of the user interface.

SETVAR

To get a list of all system variables, use the SETVAR command or the new System Variables command in the Express Tools:

1. Open the 13-3_AutoCAD Configuration.dwg file.
2. Using the In-Canvas View Controls, restore Custom Model Views | 1-HPLAYER named view.
3. Using the Express Tools ribbon and the Tools panel, select the System Variables command.
4. Using the System Variables dialog, review the listed system variables.
5. Select the HPLAYER system variable to view the current and available settings.

Note

Use the FILTER field in the System Variables dialog to simplify finding a specific variable.
