Data Sync
The Microsoft Sync Framework has also found its way to the cloud. Microsoft has built SQL Data Sync upon the traditional Sync Framework. With SQL Data Sync, you can easily set up and configure synchronizations between traditional SQL Server and instances of Windows Azure SQL Database or between SQL databases only.
Synchronization takes place in a so-called synchronization group. A synchronization group is a collection of SQL databases and SQL Server databases that are grouped together for the synchronization process.
Configuration takes place on the synchronization group level and enables you to define the following:
Which databases, tables, and columns are synchronized
Filters are used to define which rows are synchronized, for example filters on a country column regulate in which continent database a record needs to appear
The synchronization direction (from the hub, to the hub, or both ways)
How to resolve synchronization conflicts
SQL Data Sync is an easy-to-use, easy-to-provision...
