Summary
In this chapter, we learned that Application Lifecycle Management is all about governance, development, and operations. We learned what tooling is available and how Team Foundation Server can help us set up an ALM environment and how to define and run Builds. We described what roles are involved in realizing Geotopia and what the overall process looks like to get from development to a formal release of Geotopia, all in an automated way by using Team Foundation Server.
We also saw an example of how to set up and create different Windows Azure subscriptions all with their own purpose of development, testing, and operations.
In the next chapter, we will learn all about the Security Development Lifecycle and how to create awareness on the topic of security and make it an integral part of your ALM, with a special focus on the security topics in the Windows Azure context.
