Launching RVC (Linux vCenter Appliance)
Launching RVC in the vCenter Appliance is a one-stop operation. The modules are already compiled and available when you log into the appliance and can be launched from the default path.
Getting ready
You should be logged in to the vCenter Server Appliance via SSH or VM console as the root. It is strongly recommended that you use an SSH client such as the freely available PuTTY application to log in to the vCenter Appliance.
How to do it…
At the root prompt, type the following command and strike Enter:
# rvc
When prompted for your username and password, enter it in the form of
<username>@<domain>@<vCenter IP address or FQDN>
.If prompted to accept a thumbprint, please strike the y key.
When prompted, enter your password.
You will now be logged into RVC and presented with a command prompt, as shown in the following screenshot:
