Translating lead generation process requirements into design
Now that you have reviewed the capability of the primary Objects in Sales Cloud, that that are used for the lead generation we can start to translate the requirements into design. As said before, you want to make sure you leverage all the standard functionality first before any custom solution. You also want to use the organization’s terminology where possible; however, be cautious about renaming stand Objects and Fields as this has a maintenance cost.
Always start with the simplest option and, when possible, play this back to Users to get feedback and only add complexity if required. For example, if the organization has requested a lot of fields on the Lead record, or they have many free text fields, you might want to show a version that only shows the essential classification fields to make sure they are aware of the user experience impact of extending the admin burden on Users.
