Deleting steps using the canvas
Developing a presentation is almost an organic process. The presentation keeps growing as you add materials and develop your ideas on the canvas. Eventually, you may need to delete steps from your prezi path.
Deleting a step from the prezi path can mean two different scenarios. In both cases, we are looking at an element that is a step on the path.
Scenario 1: Deleting the element from the canvas means that it will also disappear from the path.
Scenario 2: Deleting the step (by deleting the number-circle or using the red circle in the path lane) means that your item is still on the canvas, but you chose not to use it as a step. (Compare to a bus driving by a building instead of stopping.)
Sometimes it is nice to keep material on your canvas without using it as a step. You may want to have it at hand as extra information or just because it looks good as part of your design.
