Background workflows generate system job records to track their status. You can access these system jobs from Settings | System Jobs.
By default, the system job records are deleted automatically if the workflow process is successful. You can toggle the Keep logs for workflow jobs setting in the properties of the workflow editor so that you can analyze the number of workflows executed.
There are multiple views of system jobs and you can create personal views to assist you in your monitoring of errors, for example.
