Okay, now we have our frames set up and our text finished. Time to move on to drawing! First, we'll need to set up our layers for sketching so that we're ready to go on each page.
Using actions to set up sketching layers
If there's one thing I always end up doing over and over again on my digital art, it's setting up at least two layers for sketching. One I use for a rough sketch and a layout. The other is for a more refined sketch. Since I know how I work and that I'll always have at least these two layers, why not make an action to set them up for me to save some time?
Open the Auto action palette, either by clicking on it or going to Window | Auto action to pull it up. Click on the menu in the top left of the palette and select Add auto action. Name it Layer Prep
and hit Enter.
When you make your pages, each one should have a layer named Layer 1 Make sure that this layer is highlighted in the Layer palette before clicking on the Record icon in the Auto action palette.
