Building a mobile app with Visual Studio Tools for Apache Cordova

Visual Studio 2015 (starting from the Community Edition) already contains Visual Studio Tools for Apache Cordova (TACO), and it is continuously updated as features are optimized and incremented. As with all projects in Visual Studio, we can create a new project from the menu item: File | New | Project:

We can choose between two kinds of template groups, as in the JavaScript world the TypeScript superset language is also available. It is recommended to move on to TypeScript as we can obtain compiler and IDE support on strong typing.

The template is quite complex as it contains many different folders:

www is the main folder as it contains the core application structure as on ordinary HTML5 + CSS3 + JavaScript web sites. Typically, index.html is the main page from which the application starts.
